Get to know each of my Capture One sets below. They save me a lot of time and knowing that I have presets as an option & ready to go during my shoot helps give me confidence on set. Sometimes they need minor tweaks but sometimes they are one-click and go (remember that there is not one preset that works perfectly on every image, and sometimes small tweaks are needed to make the presets work best for you). They provide a great foundation to every shoot I do. My Capture One Styles were crafted over weeks of testing on various shoots in my image archive and I am proud to say that I USE these styles on almost every set I am on. Help you understand more about color toning & adjustment possibilities Give your work a fashion/editorial flair! Help build a foundation for finding a recognizable visual styleĬan be stacked to create endless color options Give you a great base to work from (can easily be adjusted) Here are a few of my favorite Capture One Styles from my Fashion Foundations, Vintage Tones & B&W sets! As you can see, the toning changes really help create the final image! Scroll through to view the before/afters, as well as which styles have been used. This can vary from saturation changes, RGB curves, luma curves, highlight/shadow pulls and more advanced color toning adjustments. So why use Capture One Styles and what are they? There are so many reasons why reliable presets are useful for many photographers out there!Ĭapture One Styles are pre-recorded/created toning presets that have various different toning and image shifts. A lot of them say without tethering and a monitor they are going into a shoot blind because they can’t see clearly how light and toning effect the end result. My creative team (make up, hair, styling etc) also really appreciate this workflow as they are able to check on THEIR work and make changes. This is also a game-changer when working with clients because they LOVE to see a toned image. I am also able to add my preferred color toning on set, making an image close to what you would see retouched (without any image clean up). I was able to slow down my process, take a breather in-between shots and make better decisions. Switching over to Capture One vs relying on the viewfinder was a game-changer for me. It doesn’t matter whether I am shooting commercial work or personal work - I NEED to be able to see my images as they come through to the computer and I like to see color toning true to how I would see a final image.

I am often asked what my true capture workflow is and I am always happy to share with other photographers! There are two parts to it a.) tethering (syncing my camera to a laptop or computer by means of tether cable) and b.) using a capture program (such as Capture One). Capture One is the gold standard in commercial image capture and professional color toning is paramount when working with clients on set.
